Abortion is a choice
a. Purpose: I decided to write my essay based on abortion. Abortion is a worldwide issue that many women face throughout their life. Abortion is widely seen as a very controversial issue that has many people arguing whether it should be illegal or not. This issue is very interesting to me because its a issue that society has been debating about for centuries. It also brings religion into play which also makes it a religious issue. I want to examine the arguments people have about the issue and how it can cause those facing this issue to change their mind. Its important to examine this issue because it will help me explain the issue in depth and the effects it has on society and individuals.
b. Thesis & Research: My research about abortion will help me find sources that will back up my argument. It will guide me to see the type of situations individuals have had with abortion. I also want to get the view points of people that believe abortion is sinful and is looked down upon. I want to see their reasoning for their beliefs. My research will help back up my argument and will also teach me things i never knew about this issue. My argument is to prove that abortion should be the women's right no matter what others say and that it should remain to be legal in the United States.
c. Audience and their needs: My audience is towards everyone in my english 114 class and my professor. I will address their needs by answering any questions that I have found throughout my research.
d. Position other have taken: I believe that most of the positions on abortion are going to be against it because some people have religious backgrounds that force them to believe that abortion is wrong. Others will be pro abortion because just like me, we believe that it should be up to the women and not the laws that states are tying to make to keep women from having abortions. My research will include information that proves that abortion is not bad and has its benefits.
